What is an air ambulance?

An air ambulance is a private aircraft that is equipped with a stretcher, medical personnel, medication and medical equipment the patient should require during fight.

Will insurance pay for my air ambulance services?

Yes, in many situations insurance companies will cover the costs involved depending on the medical necessity of the transport. We will bill the insurance company directly in all written pre-approved cases. Otherwise payment, including co-payments and deductibles is due prior to aircraft dispatch. Why do I need an Aeromedevac, Inc. transport?

Aeromedevac arranges transport services in connection with the relocation of patients requiring specialized medical care and or procedures such as organ transplants, cancer treatment, specialized surgery, burn care, stroke care, advanced head and spinal cord injury and rehabilitation to hospitals recognized as national centers of excellence in these fields. Air ambulance transports are also used for the repatriation of patients who are injured or become ill away from home or to simply move a loved one closer to family members.

Aeromedevac Air Ambulance operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Feel free to call us at 800-462-0911 to answer any additional questions you may have.

Where does Aeromedevac Air Ambulance fly to?

Aeromedevac transfers patients throughout Mexico and the continental United States. Our flight coordinators will arrange all customs, immigration, ground transportation, and any other necessary arrangements.

How much notice is required for an air ambulance transport?

Air ambulance transports can be arranged rather quickly, usually within the hour however, if it's not an emergency we ask that you give us 24 hours notice.

Is ground ambulance transportation included in the service?

A total service air ambulance will provided bedside-to-bedside service. It is imperative that ground ambulance arrangements be made, confirmed and updated to avoid patient waiting. We include this in our pricing unless requested otherwise.

How much luggage can I bring? How about wheelchairs?

We ask that luggage be limited to one suitcase per person for most aircraft. Please check with the flight coordinator for more specific instructions. We are able to transport wheelchairs but we ask that they be collapsible so we may secure them in the aircraft.

How do I pay?

Aeromedevac accepts: bank wires, certified checks, money orders, personal checks with credit card backup, American Express, Discover, Master Card or Visa and insurance if verification and approval have been confirmed prior to flight. One of Aeromedevacs flight coordinators can assist in insurance verification and benefits.

Can family accompany the patient? is there a charge?

Depending on the patient's condition and aircraft selected, one to four family members may accompany the patient. There is no additional charge.
